Travel Agent Marketing for Travel Sites Update
This week I was focusing on the travel keyword phrases Travel Site,Travel Sites, and Travel Agent Marketing. I did this by leaving blog comments on various blogs with the Keyword text. I also submitted a couple of articles to Ezinearticles, using those words in the author box. Once the articles are live, I will add the links to a post. Lastly, I submitted the site to a variety of web directories such as general directories and other niche travel directories. For some articles on Link Building, I suggest reading the Link Building Series of blog posts located at Pixelheadonline.com.
I also added a few articles to the directory this week, in the Green Travel Category. Green Travel is a targeted travel keyword as well.
Twitter Travel Update
This week I maxed out on the number of people I can follow on Twitter, and using Your Twitter Karma I was able to unfollow many Twitter users whom I had been following. Initially, I did not want to unfollow anyone, but watching the video on who to Follow on Twitter for a second time, I realized I needed to reduce the number of people that I was following.
First, after loging on to the Twitter Karma site and getting my follower base uploaded, I switched to “Following Only” mode. I then scrolled down to the bottom of this screen and checked off people based upon:
- Those who had never updated their Twitter.
- Those who did not put in a custom Twitter icon.
These two enabled me do unfollow about 200 people. Several days later when I was again maxed out on my followers, I went back and selected these two categories again, and then I also selected people that had not updated their profiles in time limits upto a week.
In the Twitter tutorial video Robert suggest that you also unfollow those without a picture of a real person. I have not gotten to that point, but I very well might in the near future.
I also have been practicing the habit of approving only 1 free travel site resource per day. I then sandwich a tweet announcing the travel resource between 2-3 other tweets that could be retweets or comments to other Twitter users.
Check out my previous post on Twitter Automation to find some tips on optimizing your Twitter profile.
What were you up to last week?
