Travel Sites

This week we are vacationing in Chicago. Well actually we are in town hanging with some friends and then we will be attending the Chicago OMS conference tomorrow.  We flew into Chicago on Saturday and saw a bit of the town with our friend Cat. Her husband Dave(Uncle Dave) had been at a family function during the day when were checking out some of the groovy Chicago parks.

That night, we went out in search of some of that famous Chicago pizza, and ended up at what Cat and Dave both said would be their number one choice,  Home Run Inn. 
Home Run Inn pizza is available across the country..it maybe in the grocers freezer near you..We actually got two pizzas..one semi healthy one and one with all the sausage and stuff for the rest of us not being so healthy. We did have quite a bit left over, but it was polished off for breakfast several days later.

Sunday, we woke up and Lizzie and I headed off to church at the Chicago Willows Creek Church and enjoyed a really great service and got feed the Lords word.

After Church we headed over to meet Cat and Dave at the Eleven City Diner for breakfast. I had some awesome French toast and a Bloody Mary for breakfast.  Everyone seemed to enjoy their breakfast tremendously. Cat and Dave, who live about 2 blocks from the diner were please to learn that a Jewish Deli/diner was so close to them.

After breakfast, we stopped off at the local wine shop and bought some wine and beer. The beer included a half case of the new Schlitz, which uses the same formula as back in the 60’s. We also got some Celebrator German Double Bock Beer, and a Firehouse beer that donates a portion of the profits to burn victims.

Shortly after breakfast, we packed up and headed out to Cat and Dave’s place in Watseka, Ill – The Dancing Frogs and Happy Dogs River Lodge, which is located about 60 miles outside of Chicago off of the Iroquois River. The lodge is truly a sweet piece of paradise that allows Cat, Dave and their two dogs to get away from the city.

In Watseka, we hung out on Sunday night after checking out the lay of the land. I got some groovy videos of their place to include a roof top video that took a 360 degree view of their property.  Dave made some killer guacamole, and some delicious burgers. We then settled in to chat and have some beers in their cozy livingroom.

The next day we headed out for a little cruise. We drove into Indiana and I made a couple of videos of the wind farm. We also hit up a couple of antique shops that were having sales.

Then after eating at a diner in Watseka, we packed up and headed back to Chicago. Cat is a Chicago Fireman and she had start a 24hr shift on Tuesday.  And that is were we are at the moment..hanging at Cat and Daves. In a bit, Dave and I will head out to check out Chicago. He wants to take me to the lake and to see some museums.

Tomorrow, Wednesday, all three of us will be spending the day in OMS getting as much knowledge about online marketing as we can.
