So after heading out on our Sarasota vacation road trip, and after spending several nights at the Mansion on Forsyth Park in Savannah(a really romantic Savannah hotel by the way), on Tuesday night we finally arrived at Suntide Island Beach Club, our Sarasota vacation destination.

This was the first trip to Sarasota for both Lizzie and I, however, since Lizzie’s mom has a time share at Suntide Island Beach Club for two weeks a year, I am sure we will be back next year if it is ok with Lizzie’s Mom. We may even decide we would not mind having a time share of our own at Suntide.

Wow Sarasota sounds great, definitely somewhere we’d like to visit. Really comprehensive review!
The ocean is amazing and there are big sand hills to the side of the beach. If you can sleep in one big storm you will like Sarasota. The trip was not a waste of money because I had a good time swimming.
My husband and I live in Chicago and have come to Sarasota several times on vacation and have fell in love with the beautiful beaches, friendly locals, wonderful restaurants/pubs and the huge variety of things to do. You may even run into a few celebrities as we have! We loved it so much that we purchased a vacation combo for there to visit at least one more time.
I’ve been to Sarasota once. It was quite a memorable experience, highly recommendable. The ocean is great over there!
@Euro Relais hotels, yea, the ocean was crystal clear. Once I swam out beyond the sand bar, and it was unbelievably clear.
Thanks for the full list of tips! What price range is La Colonne restaurant? Like $30 per head incl. wine or more upscale than that?
Thailand ABC, I believe it might have topped out at $30..it was not overly pricey.
I wouldn’t mind seeing Sarasota myself. I’ve heard horror stories about the climate in Florida, however, particularly the very humid environment. I still don’t think that’ll deter me though
